Description

The AgOpenGPS guidance system is the modular foundation of precision farming. Easily upgradable: every component can be utilized for setting up a full automatic steering system.

▶️ Setup and User Guide

Precision Parameters

  • RTK Fix Accuracy: Achieve 2.5 cm return accuracy with internet-based correction (NTRIP).
  • Galileo HAS Technology: Provides 20 cm absolute accuracy without internet or external correction, utilizing the European High Accuracy Service (HAS) satellite features.
  • Update Rate: 20 Hz refresh rate (20 position updates per second) for smooth, real-time visualization.

Technical Specifications

  • GNSS Architecture: Triple-frequency (L1, L2, L5) Unicore receiver, managing all major satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) simultaneously.
  • Tilt Compensation: By default, mounting the antenna on the hood is recommended, which physically minimizes lateral position errors on uneven terrain.
  • Interface: Plug & Play connection. Data transfer and power for the RTK receiver are handled via a single USB cable connected to the tablet.

Why choose the AgOpen system?

  • No License or Correction Fees: No annual subscriptions or feature unlock costs. The latest updates are always available.
  • Modular Design: Start with visual guidance and upgrade your machine to automatic steering or section control at your own pace.
  • Professional Background: Open-source but supported by professional hardware, with dedicated technical support.

Adapters for different tractors

To ensure you select the correct adapter, the most reliable method is to remove the steering wheel and measure the diameter of the splined shaft, as shown in the image.

In most cases, the spline count is 36; therefore, the diameter is the determining factor. Based on our experience, dimensions are consistent across certain brands.

Models for which the data in the table below are highly reliable:

  • John Deere and newer machines from the CNH Group: A+

When do I need a 4G router?

Add an external 4G router to your kit if:

  • Tablet has no LTE modem: Your tablet lacks a built-in SIM slot, and you don’t want to rely on your phone’s mobile hotspot.
  • Weak signal coverage: The external antennas provide a stable internet connection in remote fields where standard mobile phones often lose reception.
  • Section controller setup: You are using an extra control board for automatic section control or sprayer management. This setup utilizes the router’s Ethernet hub function, where a third Ethernet cable is connected directly to the SC to ensure seamless communication between the devices.
